Winter Style Staples
MONTANA, JANUARY 2018
Earlier this month I got the chance to visit my family in Montana. It had been four years since I had been home during the winter season and I felt like I was seeing the state through new eyes. Growing up I definitely took for granted the winter wonderland Montana turns into, but now that I live in the South and a dusting of snow is rare, all I wanted to do was play outside and take in the breathtaking surroundings! My sister and I bundled up for an afternoon of exploring the property surrounding our home and felt like kids throwing snowballs and sledding. It was a great day!
Since I rarely need to wear so many layers in Nashville, it was nice to pull out some of my winter favorites from the back of the closet. A few years ago I bought this Maje coat (similar here) and get so excited every chance I get to wear it. I love a jacket with a fur hood, especially when the fur is so soft that it bounces when you walk! I also love this puffer style for a day on the slopes. My other go-to winter staple is a pair of Sorel boots. If you live or are visiting somewhere with snow, you need to invest in a pair! Between the waterproof sole and faux fur cuff to lock in heat, they'll keep your feet dry all day long. Plus, they're super comfortable and will last years.
